Signalling during plant immunity and development

Our research activities aim at gaining knowledge about the molecular mechanisms involved in plant disease resistance and, more particularly, in the transcriptional regulation of Arabidopsis defence and associated hypersensitive cell death in response to bacterial pathogens. More recently, our research has evolved towards deciphering the protective roles of immune regulators during plant developmental processes and we aim at understanding how this interplay between immune and developmental signalling cascades may impact the vertical transmission of bacterial pathogens. We use a multidisciplinary approach unifying methods and concepts from genetics, transcriptomics, biochemistry and molecular and cell biology. These molecular approaches are associated with mathematical and statistical modelling methods in order to gain an integrated view of the regulatory networks that shape the plant defence response.
