The main objectives of the plant production is to produce plants from species such as Arabidopsis thaliana, Medicago truncatula, Nicotiana benthamiana, Solanum lycopersicum, and also some Brassicas. These plants are prepared for experiments at different growth stages under controlled conditions. This includes from sawing to seed production, crosses, propagation by cutting, self fertilization, phytosanitary treatments and biological plant protection methods.

Plant transformation is also routinely performed for the models mainly used in the lab, e.i. Arabidopsis thaliana and Medicago truncatula.
For Medicago truncatula, stable transgenic lines are obtained via embryogenesis regeneration. The floral dipping method is applied for Arabidopsis thaliana. The transformants are identified and submitted to molecular and genetic characterization.
In addition to these two species is added Tomato for which Agrobacterium tumefaciens transformation protocol from cotyledons has been set up in the laboratory.
